Finally, Christmas Cards Done!

I was very good this year in finishing my Christmas cards a lot earlier than usual. All because of my dependable digital cutting machine, the Silhouette SD. I just can't stop raving about this truly amazing machine. My crafting couldn't be easier and faster. And with the new software, the Silhouette Studio, working on my designs is simply heavenly :).

Here is my Christmas card for 2010.

I used red felt paper for the card and embossed it with the Fiskars Snowflakes template using the Cuttlebug. The hunter green cardstock ribbon was embossed with the Fiskars Dots template.I used the print and cut for the sentiment, the message inside the card and the Hand Crafted By. The card has 9 layers of cutouts and with the 45 cards that I made, my Silhouette did a total of 450 cuts!

All of the cutting files were purchased from the Silhouette online store:
1) card base (red felt) with the ribbon (hunter green): Present_0227
2) poinsettia flower (red felt): poinsettia_C00641_23067
3) sentiment: created an oval shape
4) layered frame for the sentiment: 25_label_frame_tag_C00908_19210

The gift box design, the card base, is not really a folded card. I just duplicated the design, mirrored the copy  so it will face the original copy and then attached both copies and welded them together to create a folded card.
