Window With Shutters Card - Thank You Card For Jogry & Neil

Not many of you know that I teach the Silhouette Studio online. I have not advertised this nor promoted it as I do it more as a favor to those who are groping their way into learning the Studio. While there are tons of free tutorials available on the Internet on how to learn the use of the Silhouette Cameo machine and its software, the Silhouette Studio, there are some who are computer-challenged and are not capable of following the tutorials on their own. Jogry has had her Cameo for over a year and was almost at the point of giving up on it when she started noticing my posts on our

Silhouette Users Yahoo Group. She sent me an e-mail and asked me if I can teach her the Silhouette Studio. The mentoring relationship quickly blossomed into a beautiful friendship. She and her husband, Neil, invited me to join them in celebrating Jogry's 80th birthday last August 25. They are originally from Netherlands and have happily retired in Bali, Indonesia. I had the most wonderful one-week vacation at their beautiful home. It was a great bonding time which made our friendship even deeper that extended to her beautiful family. Jogry was, of course, most especially happy with the actual in-person tutorials that we had at her beautiful well-organized craft room. She is a hardcore crafter engaged in various crafts, just super talented! At her age, I am in awe with her motivation and perseverance in continually trying to learn new things in her crafts everyday, the latest of which is learning how to use her Silhouette Cameo machine along with the Silhouette Studio software. I was a very proud teacher when Jogry showed me the very first card that she was able to create on her own using her Silhouette Cameo. She has advanced amazingly and has been creating various kinds of cards practically everyday. She has mastered the Print & Cut and can create her own sentiments on her cards. I am, indeed, her very proud teacher!

I made this very special thank you card for Jogry and Neil to express my great appreciation for their very warm hospitality. They have such a lovely and beautiful home with the beach practically in their backyard. More than the beauty and comfort of their beautiful home, I enjoyed the company of my new friends who are truly one of the nicest and most endearing couples that I've met. I included some photos below of Jogry and Neil along with their beautiful home. You will see the beautiful craft room of Jogry which was lovingly built by Neil. He also made all the shelves, cabinets and various organizers for Jogry's crafting supplies.

This card has so many layers of designs starting from the window and the shutters down to the fence and flower box enhanced with the curtains and valence. All these are included in my free file along with the 2 sentiments that I created for two different occasions with the overlapping frame. The mat layer for the framed sentiment as well as the vine over the window and shutters are from the Silhouette store. And, yes, the box is included in the free file. The flourish and the frame for Jogry and Neil's name used on the box are also from the Silhouette store so they are not included in the file.

Designs from the Silhouette store:
Vine - Vine Corner
Mat for framed sentiment - Artisans Nesting Rectangular
Flourish on the box - Flourish (sorry, that's simply the name shown in the store)
Tag/Frame on the box - Decorative Rectangle Frame

I used a lot of my DIY dimensional foam tape for the 3D effect of this card. I used layers of it to allow for the depth of the fence to give way for the flowers in the flower box.

I only share my files with my blog followers. Just post a comment with your e-mail address indicating your request so I can send you the file. I applied the faux chipboard technique for this piece to make the fence sturdy.
